Signs
Hard pellets, straining, crying with stool, or going many days without stool (patterns vary by age).
Diet adjustments
- Offer water with solids (small sips).
- Fiber: pear, prune puree in moderation, oats, peas.
- Continue breast milk or formula adequate for age.
Avoid
Excessive constipating foods alone (too much rice without fruit/veg); do not give honey under 12 months.
