When is formula used?

When breastfeeding is not possible or insufficient despite support, or for medical indications — decision with your pediatrician.

Choosing a product

Use age-appropriate stage 1 formula from reputable brands; special formulas only with prescription.

Preparation

  • Wash hands and bottles; use safe water heated to recommended temperature.
  • Follow scoop instructions exactly — do not dilute or concentrate.
  • Discard unfinished feed after about 1 hour at room temperature.

Safety

Never microwave bottles unevenly; hold baby semi-upright; never prop bottles.
