Mindset and birth plan
Discuss preferences (support person, pain relief, skin-to-skin) with your birth team. Plans may change — flexibility helps.
Hospital bag (suggestions)
- ID, insurance, prenatal records.
- Comfortable clothes, nursing bras, toiletries, phone charger.
- Baby clothes, blanket, diapers; car seat installed.
Fetal monitoring
Know kick-count methods your clinician recommends. Report decreased movement promptly.
When to go to the hospital
Regular painful contractions, water breaking, heavy bleeding, severe headache, vision changes, or reduced fetal movement — seek care per local protocol.
Third-trimester nutrition
Continue iron, calcium, protein, and hydration; small frequent meals if heartburn.
Light admin
Prepare newborn registration steps per local law; arrange help at home for the first weeks.
