Definition
Stillbirth generally means fetal death at or after about 20 weeks (clinical definitions vary). Different from early miscarriage.
Possible signs
- Reduced or absent fetal movement (especially after 28 weeks).
- Vaginal discharge or pain.
- Sudden loss of pregnancy symptoms (not diagnostic alone).
Action
Go to hospital immediately for ultrasound and fetal heart monitoring. Do not wait assuming the baby is "resting."
